STRICTLY EMBARGOED UNTIL 15:00 GMT ON MONDAY 2ND DECEMBER 2024 -  Factor Bikes, the premium performance bicycle brand, has announced the reimagining of its triathlon-specific bike, the SLiCK. Integrating the latest technology from across Factor’s portfolio of road and track machines, the SLiCK is optimized for age group multi-sport athletes who are seeking to balance high performance with practicality and integration.

Inspired by world-leading performance

The redesigned SLiCK leverages trickle-down technology from Factor’s Olympic Gold medal-winning HANZŌ Track and World Tour talisman OSTRO VAM.

Designed for straight-line speed, the gold medal-winning HANZŌ Track maximizes the chord length of the airfoil sections for improved aerodynamics, a feature incorporated into the SLiCK to offer athletes unparalleled speed.

Drawing inspiration from the OSTRO VAM, the SLiCK’s front end has been carefully engineered to maximize performance at variable yaw angles, Providing an approximate six-watt saving at 48 km/h over the previous edition, the new iteration deploys a ~12% increase in aerodynamic performance - catering to individual dynamics rather than group riding.

Designed to go the distance

Factor has also redesigned the rear triangle to dampen the ride quality and take the edge off the constant bumping from the road so athletes are able to perform over a range of race distances, from middle to long.

Factor’s in-house expertise has crafted a lightweight and responsive layup weighing just 1250g for the frame and 459g for the fork (for a 54cm), designed to help riders adapt to longer distances and maintain the high quality and stiffness that top-class athletes demand.

Factor has opted for a standard 1” 1/4 steerer tube so the SLiCK is easy to customize to the perfect fit and quick to transport, making it the ideal choice for athletes who travel frequently and are looking to optimize their position hassle-free. Utilizing a rail-style saddle mount also provides an effective range of 73-79º STA (height dependent) and allows the use of a wide variety of 10mm-compatible accessories.

Multiple Build Configurations

Integrated in-frame storage with a convenient latch mechanism allows easy access to ride essentials without sacrificing aerodynamics. Plus the bike’s hydration system is strategically positioned within the wake of the stem to minimize drag.

Available in a wide range of sizes, starting from an XS frame, the SLiCK is accessible to a diverse range of athletes, ensuring the right fit for everyone. Factor is also offering two models at different price points, the SLiCK and SLiCK Premium. For riders looking to extract every ounce of performance out of their bike, the SLiCK Premium is specced with Vision Metron TFA aero bars and the all-new Black Inc SIXTY TWO wheelset.

Rob Gitelis, Factor and Black Inc Founder said: “We are pleased to be bringing Factor’s world-class engineering and performance to the global community of triathletes. Drawing on the aerodynamic excellence of the HANZŌ and the versatility of the OSTRO VAM, the SLiCK strikes the perfect balance between real-world speed and practicality.

"Our commitment to triathlon is now stronger than ever, reflected not only in the launch of the new SLiCK, but also in our partnerships with world-class triathletes who are already achieving fantastic results at the biggest races in the world.”

About Bugatti

Founded by Ettore Bugatti in 1909 in Molsheim (Alsace, France), Bugatti has epitomized automotive craftsmanship and innovation for over a century. Guided by Ettore's principle, "If comparable, it is no longer Bugatti," the brand is defined by an unparalleled level of attention to detail, high personalization and exclusive savoir-faire that is unique in the automotive industry. Each car is still hand-assembled in the Atelier in Molsheim.

Bugatti’s legacy is simply incomparable. Models like the Type 35, Type 57 SC Atlantic and Type 41 Royale defined the early years of the brand, Romano Artioli revived Bugatti with the unveiling of the trailblazing EB110 in the 1990s – paving the way to all modern Bugatti models since the Veyron. Introduced in the 2000s under the leadership of Professor Ferdinand Piëch, the Veyron created a brand-new automotive segment and established a new paradigm, as it became the world’s first production car with more than 1,000 PS and a top speed of over 250 mph. With the Chiron family and models like the ultimate roadster, the W16 Mistral, and the track-only Bolide, Bugatti’s W16-engined lineage has forever transformed the automotive industry.

Today, Bugatti is part of the Bugatti Rimac joint company, embarking on an all-new era with the latest Bugatti masterpiece: the Tourbillon. Inspired by Haute-Couture, the Tourbillon is timeless in its design and its engineering, meant to be admired by enthusiasts a century from now, in the same way that early Bugatti creations are today.

As well as its peerless cars and the incomparable experiences the brand offers, Bugatti also operates Bugatti Lifestyle, which extends the brand’s philosophy of excellence and innovation into a wide range of products, including fine furniture and real estate, champagne, clothing and timepieces, selected for their matching values with Bugatti’s DNA.
