AG2R LA MONDIALE Ride Roubaix on Factor bikes designed in collaboration with David Millar’s CHPT3

Four riders from AG2R LA MONDIALE will be riding CHPT3 designed Factor O2 bikes in Paris Roubaix on Sunday. Oliver NaesenNico DenzJulien Duval, and Tony Gallopin will each ride the course on these bikes with the “ONEMORELAP” Roubaix-inspired graphics developed by David Millar’s creative design lab, CHPT3, in Girona.

“The ONEMORELAP design represents for us a mentality of going to the next level, no matter how empty you might be. It’s a feeling only a few races actually capture, namely the Tour de France and Paris Roubaix,” writes Millar. “It was inspired by my own final race of Paris Roubaix in 2014. This collaboration with Factor is a reminder to each rider he always has one more lap inside of him.”

An exciting and big step for the design lab, this is the first time CHPT3’s work will be seen in the professional peloton. “We believe cycling has always been a beautiful platform for storytelling, but we are trying to push the edge of what’s possible, not just with the stories, but how they come to life through design. The ONEMORELAP collaboration with Factor is our first big opportunity to showcase our design ethos at the highest level in professional cycling.”

This collaboration with Factor is CHPT3’s first performance bike design and joins their collection of design collaborations with apparel, accessories, and folding bike brands.

“Creative collaborations are one of the most powerful ways we are trying to push the cycling industry out of its comfort zone. Alone, any company can only ever do so much. But together we unlock new ways of working, new kinds of designs, new kinds of engineering and new materials that might struggle under ordinary industry circumstances. In a way, we think of our work as a creative laboratory for the cycling industry, where new ideas can really come to life, and are available to people who want to ride with something a bit different.”

In 2017, Romain Bardet rode the Factor O2 to a Tour de France podium; bicycle engineering at its finest across all conditions and terrains. The frame is built using RGi carbon construction, has a tapered headtube, compact race geometry, internal cable routing. The fork: RGi carbon. In its standard blue design, the O2 is raced by AG2R LA MONDIALE throughout the 2018 season.

About Bugatti

Founded by Ettore Bugatti in 1909 in Molsheim (Alsace, France), Bugatti has epitomized automotive craftsmanship and innovation for over a century. Guided by Ettore's principle, "If comparable, it is no longer Bugatti," the brand is defined by an unparalleled level of attention to detail, high personalization and exclusive savoir-faire that is unique in the automotive industry. Each car is still hand-assembled in the Atelier in Molsheim.

Bugatti’s legacy is simply incomparable. Models like the Type 35, Type 57 SC Atlantic and Type 41 Royale defined the early years of the brand, Romano Artioli revived Bugatti with the unveiling of the trailblazing EB110 in the 1990s – paving the way to all modern Bugatti models since the Veyron. Introduced in the 2000s under the leadership of Professor Ferdinand Piëch, the Veyron created a brand-new automotive segment and established a new paradigm, as it became the world’s first production car with more than 1,000 PS and a top speed of over 250 mph. With the Chiron family and models like the ultimate roadster, the W16 Mistral, and the track-only Bolide, Bugatti’s W16-engined lineage has forever transformed the automotive industry.

Today, Bugatti is part of the Bugatti Rimac joint company, embarking on an all-new era with the latest Bugatti masterpiece: the Tourbillon. Inspired by Haute-Couture, the Tourbillon is timeless in its design and its engineering, meant to be admired by enthusiasts a century from now, in the same way that early Bugatti creations are today.

As well as its peerless cars and the incomparable experiences the brand offers, Bugatti also operates Bugatti Lifestyle, which extends the brand’s philosophy of excellence and innovation into a wide range of products, including fine furniture and real estate, champagne, clothing and timepieces, selected for their matching values with Bugatti’s DNA.
